Media processing

GIFLO does not upload the photos and videos you select, or the GIFs it creates, to any external server. Importing, converting, watermarking, and encoding all happen entirely on your device. The same is true after you watch a rewarded ad. Removing the watermark re-creates the result on your device without the watermark; saving or sharing WebP uses the file that was already made. In neither case does GIFLO send the file to any server. Sharing, however, hands the file to the app you pick, and what happens to it after that is up to that app.

Camera and microphone

GIFLO uses the camera when you record inside the app. If you allow microphone access, sound is recorded along with your video. Recordings are saved only in the app’s temporary storage on your device, and are not uploaded to any server.

GIF and WebP cannot carry sound, so the file you create has no audio. If you cancel a recording or retake it, that recording is deleted right away. A recording you go on to use stays in the app’s temporary storage. It is removed when you delete the app, and the operating system may clear it when the device runs low on space.

Sending feedback

Text you enter in Send feedback is saved only on this device when you submit it.

Ads

GIFLO does not show banner or interstitial ads. The only ad is a rewarded ad that appears once, and only when you tap one of these yourself.

Saving or sharing as GIF shows no ad. Ads appear on the free plan only, and an action you have already watched an ad for is not asked again for the same file.

When you use this feature, the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) runs and may collect and use the following to serve ads and for measurement and fraud prevention.

This data is collected by Google and is not sent to a GIFLO server. If you do not use ads, none of this collection happens. For details, please see the Google advertising policies and privacy policy.

You can turn off ad personalization or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings.
